# CodeSync SI vs Cursor

Cursor is an AI editor. CodeSync SI is a scan, diagnose, safe repair, review, and generate desk. They are not the same product.

## The short version

Cursor is an editor you write code in, with chat and agents beside the file. CodeSync SI does not replace that editor. It reads a project snapshot and runs scan, diagnose, safe repair, review, and generate. The desktop app is an engineering desk, not a full IDE.

You can edit in Cursor, then run CodeSync SI on the same tree when you want the deterministic pass or a hosted repair zip.

## Where Cursor fits

Cursor's product is the editing session: the buffer, the chat, and agent edits inside the editor. Cursor publishes its own plans. This page does not restate those prices.

## Where CodeSync SI fits

The engine's repair pass is intentionally narrow so the output is reviewable. Hosted Extreme can open a GitHub pull request with that diff. Standard and Expert cannot. Local Ollama use does not require a CodeSync SI subscription.

If you need an editor that writes most of the code with you, Cursor is built for that job. If you need a recorded diagnose and a safe repair you can download, CodeSync SI is built for that job.
